Challenge for High School Students

TAI - Teens in AI

Up to $5,000 in awards

A creative challenge where teens explore life in an AI-influenced world through stories, apps, performances, and ideas. The Challenge begins with a virtual Start Day on March 15, 2026 and culminates with an in-person session on April 19, 2026. March 21 is the last day for sign up. Checkout some cool quotes from participants!

Overview

In all four components, teens explore life in an AI-influenced world, focusing on how the brain decides, how AI works, and how both intersect. This isn’t about memorizing, coding, or being technical; it’s guided exploration driven by curiosity, reflection, and conversation with peers and AI.

Projects: MindStory, VibeApp, and StageX
Participate individually or as a team of max 3 friends or assigned on the Start Day
InsightX: self-paced individual study using short multimedia content and guided prompts
About 10–15 hours of individual study
About 15-20 hours of towards projects

No-code VibeApp Tutorial

We had an excellent Vibe Code tutorial on March 21, 2026, 10:00am-12:00pm on Zoom by the Challenge partner Inspirit AI, a leader in AI Programs for high schoolers. Here is PDF Summary for a quick reference. Here is a link to the video of the session.

In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop led by Stanford researcher Catherine Qing, high school students are invited explore the latest generative AI tools and design a product from scratch to address a social problem they care about. No programming or computer science experience is required. The goal of the workshop is to prepare students for college and careers in an AI-driven world. Students are guided step-by-step through the no-code platform Lovable and move from idea to launch, using vibe coding skills to define their app’s purpose, target users, and impact.
